Beyond Grammar:
Editing That Transforms Stories
By Pam Sheppard
Step away from the immersion in all the details of your book to take a bird’s-eye view of how it is working. A developmental edit is the big picture analysis of your manuscript, the first step to see if your story and all its details can create a satisfying read.
Every editor has an individual style and set of skills. Get a glimpse into the way Pam examines a manuscript for its structure and story logic, as well as its orchestration of essential components such as character, plot, and voice.
Pam invites you to the conversation. Bring your questions and join us. A developmental edit checklist will be provided.
Bio
Pam Sheppard overlapped over thirty years with Big 5 traditional publishers and over twenty years of editing hundreds of projects across numerous genres. A developmental editor, she now works with independent publishers and independent authors to bring her literary eye and practical commercial instincts to help her clients build their work to its true potential.
